總統馬英九今(27)日參加桃園機場第一航廈改善工程落成典禮，除了讚賞改建後煥然一新的機場大廳，還自掏腰包，花了1850元買了特色小吃，不過對國防部長是否換人，以及現場抗議群眾的聲音，他都未有任何回應。
馬英九抵達桃機前，就出現台灣建國黨成員，拉起反服貿協議、人渣總統、禽獸政府等標語，準備向馬嗆聲，不過現場超過150名員警戒備，讓抗議人士難越雷池。
約10點左右，馬英九在交通部長葉匡時的陪同下抵達現場，面對媒體詢問是否撤換國防部長高華柱，以及可能繼任的人選，馬英九也沒有任何回應。
不過在視察機場的軟硬體設施後，馬滿意的說，桃機第一航廈經過3年多的時間，已打造美侖美奐的空間；在他執政前，桃機每年增加人數為40萬人，但執政後，每年增加幅度為150萬人，其中最關鍵的就是兩岸直航以及國際航線的增加。
馬英九表示，為了因應所需，政府正積極醞釀第三航廈的開闢，儘管不能滿足市場運量的缺口，但是如果現在不做，未來會更糟糕。特別台灣又是個海島國家，空運絕對不能馬虎。
總統最後也拜訪了航空公司櫃檯、禮品商店區。最後還花了1850元，向商家購買雲林花生、澎湖魚干、關西燒仙草、台南芒果乾等名產。
