Daniel Gibson目前7年NBA生涯都待在克里夫蘭騎士，他這次的行為也還真像一位護花騎士。
Gibson月初時到紐奧良參加音樂節，因與一位男子發生糾紛，一拳打斷對方下顎，遭當地警方指控為「二級傷害」，今天他向警方自首。
根據八卦網站《TMZ》報導，當時該名男子刻意接近Gibson的老婆Keyshia Cole，還以「非常不尊重」的字眼辱罵她，讓Gibson怒火中燒。
Gibson表示，由於當時他感覺自己與妻子的安全受到威脅，決定「採取行動」，此舉卻讓他將付出2萬美元、約台幣59.9萬代價。
Gibson認為自己沒有做錯任何事情，「我不覺得可恥，我也不需要躲藏起來，因為我沒有錯。」他說。
