日本「產經新聞」報導，日本防衛大臣江渡聰德今天在眾議院安全保障委員會表示，日本與東南亞國家協會（ASEAN）會員國將於下月19日在緬甸蒲甘召開國防部長會議。

江渡表示，日本與東協召開國防部長會議是加強防衛合作的重要一步，他擬出席會議。

去年12月，日本首相安倍晉三在與東協的特別高峰會上提議召開日本與東協的國防部長會議，之後相關當局進行協商。

東協輪值主席國緬甸發邀請函給日本，希望日本防衛大臣能配合11月召開的東協國防部長擴大會議（ADMMPlus）行程，召開日本與東協國防部長會議。

鑑於中國大陸在東海、南海的活動趨於強勢，日本與東協希望透過國防部長會議針對海洋法治、爭端和平解決等，交換意見，此外，也將討論日本可能提供的支援。(中央社)
