今年1月，Google官方宣佈停止接受市場的Google Glass訂單，並且關閉其探索者(Explorer)軟體的專案計畫，甚至連原本的Google Glass團隊也都移出了 Google X 的大樓，日後團隊的領導者改為Tony Fadell。當時大家都覺得Google Glass這整個計畫，看起來是要砍掉重練。

自從Google的Google Glass從Google X的專案項目中移除，並且轉移到他們併購Nest之後順帶回鍋的Tony Fadell旗下，很多人就猜測Google Glass已經失敗，甚至Google已經放棄了這個一度曾經被視為是Google最重要的明星產品。
