台灣高雄大寮監獄受刑人下午擁槍挾持典獄長，要求離開監獄。法國曾有個囚犯挾持獄警，炸開監獄大門後駕車逃逸，逃亡月餘後被逮捕歸案，繼續蹲苦牢。

2013年4月，法國北部大城里爾1所監獄的受刑人法伊德（Redoine Faid），以爆裂物炸毀塞克丹鎮（Sequedin）的監獄大門，挾持數名獄警駕車逃逸，所幸人質平安獲釋。

當時媒體報導，法國立即發布國際通緝，並在周邊國界搜索，法伊德的行動顯然有人接頭。

1個多月後，法伊德在睡夢中被警方緝捕歸案。
